 POSITION SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Agent – Mechanical Projects drives timely and accurate procurement of the equipment and materials sold as part of the turnkey mechanical project solutions Haynes delivers to our clients.  Provide excellent service to both internal and external customers through effective written and verbal communication, along with attention to detail and document management.  


    Experience and Skills:

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the HVAC, or related, industry performing work in a field, sales, or operations capacity
    • Skilled in Microsoft software, to include: Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint

       

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Actively participate in project turnover meetings to understand the equipment and material needs of each new mechanical project.  Ask clarifying questions as needed.
    • Drive the internal timeline to order equipment as quickly as possible. Collaborate with and hold other teammates accountable for commitments on engineering review, submittal sign off, option selections, etc.
    • Issues purchase orders as needed and tracks all relevant information electronically for consistent and timely follow through
    • Saves appropriate equipment/material information (submittals, quotes, drawings, etc) to the correct job files for future use and reference
    • Works closely with the Accounting Department to ensure proper cost allocation and reconciliation    
    • Communicate professionally with internal and external customers, vendors, and subcontractors
    • Maintain knowledge of the marketplace and build vendor relationships that benefit the company in terms of delivery times, customer service, and/or pricing
    • Assist the Project Manager and team with ensuring all project equipment and materials have been received and are ready for scheduling/installation
    • Create reports for the Project Manager as requested to assist in project planning and scheduling
    • Work with the project sales team to provide relevant information on equipment pricing and availability for estimate creation

    Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.  The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the associate is exposed to (moderate/minimal) noise levels.

    Pay Range: Salary $60,000 to $75,000
