Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:   This position requires the individual to effectively lead Service Supervisors and assigned operational support personnel in order to meet or exceed contractual commitments to our clients and redeem operating unit gross profit objectives.

 

    Experience and Skills:

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 10 years of Commercial HVAC experience
    • 5 years of customer service and/or general management experience, preferably within operations
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and currently maintain a safe driving record as required by the company’s insurance provider

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other job duties may be assigned that are not included in the job description.

    • Hold weekly PAR (1-on-1) meetings with each assigned Service Supervisor to review technician performance, client concerns, significant wins/losses, and overall portfolio management; implement any action plans necessary and ensure accountability
    • Review financial performance of assigned accounts with Operations Manager monthly, in addition to weekly snapshots during PAR meetings
    • Grow and retain total assigned contract base
    • Review T &M pending report monthly for work orders to be completed and billed in order to drive revenue
    • Review problem work order files turned over by Accounting in order to drive billings
    • Establish and monitor guidelines to determine field labor requirements. Recommend changes to requirements based on annual operating plan and performance against plan
    • Secure cooperation of sales personnel to grow and retain the contract base, as required
    • Accurately determine and communicate job priorities with the dispatch team
    • Understand timing of the work and how it relates to others business needs
    • Direct and monitor staff in the development, communication, and redemption of PM schedules
    • Monitor project schedules to assure service support is provided as needed
    • Ensure that work orders are completed properly; regularly monitors billings and takes action to assure maximum cash flow
    • Train, direct, and evaluate staff in the proper, accurate, and timely completion of all paperwork
    • Assure field compliance with company standards; including timecards, WO documentation, client communication, etc.
    • Address customer complaints quickly and in the spirit of customer service and retention
    • Build rapport and productive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, field, and other personnel to influence decisions for purchasing, scheduling, installations, work completion as well as the sales business system functions
    • Understand the relationship between performance, customer satisfaction, and new business development
    • Understand and keep field staff informed of business objectives
    • Promote new business and upgrading of existing agreements by instructing and directing staff to generate and report leads and sales opportunities
    • Support sales force on calls as required
    • Acquire and maintain knowledge of pricing policies and procedures for all service offerings; utilize pricing software to review/approve all maintenance proposals prior to presentation
    • Instruct, direct, and monitor dispatch in providing materials, tools, subcontractors, and logistical support to the field to maximize output per labor hour; requires collaboration with warehouse and procurement personnel
    • Motivate and maintain high Associate morale.
    • Provide timely and relevant coaching in support of all assigned personnel’s Associate Development Plans; create/maintain a culture of continuous growth and career development
    • Embrace and actively support Haynes’ Safety By Choice culture, including collaboration with Safety Manager and holding operations personnel accountable to commitments regarding JSAs, onsite safety observations, near miss reports, driving improvement, etc.
    • Collaborate with Haynes University regarding instructor support, training needs, and curriculum development; and ensure alignment with service department’s business requirements

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

      The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    • Able to lift 75 lbs from floor to waist with possible repetition
    • Able to lift 50 lbs from shoulder to overhead
    • Able to work with both arms above head for minimum of 5 minutes
    • Able to carry 50 lbs for a distance of 25 feet
    • Able to push or pull 125 for a distance of 500 feet
    • Able to climb stairs and ladders
    • Able to carry 30 lbs while climbing stairs or a ladder
    • Able to grip and operate hand tools, powers tools and safety equipment, such as chain falls
    • Able to lift legs and step over obstacles up to 19 inches above the ground
    • Able to perform work while in varying physical positions, such as lying on side, in a kneeling position, while standing on a ladder
    • Able to access rooftop units and work at heights and in some cases tight or enclosed spaces
    • Able to wear a respirator if conditions require; may have exposure to potentially harmful chemicals or materials
    • Able to crawl for a distance of 200 feet
    • Able to stoop, crouch or kneel for up to 10 minutes at a time

    Vision:

    • Correctable to 20/20 with no color blindness

    Hearing:

    • Correctable to normal range

    Pay Range: Salary $80,000 - $120,000 

    Company vehicle provided, plus annual bonus structure
